 Welcome to the drafting of!
 the DECLARATION!
 of CITIZENSHIP !!

We are assembling scholars, journalists, activists, community leaders, students, politicians, government officials for collaborating through an online platform for the purpose of defining and creating citizenship without nations or frontiers.
Instead of the abstract language of “rights” or top-down visions of a “global government” our project mobilizes radical intuitions to reshape the rule of law for the benefit of the
99%. The document to date was created by citizens who were born or lived in the Mediterranean, Europe, South Asia, East Asia, West Africa, the Gulf States, and the Americas.

The project will be instantiated through adoption by existing organizations, assemblies, and agencies in all parts of the world and at all levels of society.
We envision inhabiting communities consistent with
the best of which our collective understandings and narratives are capable.
Instead of compromises induced by nativism, militarism, and greed we declare five principles for a
healthy citizenship and invite your review of them.
If you share these commitments and endorse the principles below, please join us in drafting the Declaration of Citizenship by contacting us:

Please bring your ideas, links, documents, videos to share
as we move this Declaration forward!!!

: PREAMBLE :

We the people do warrant that existing sovereign projects have wrought devastation to our lives and habitats. Capitulating to those motivated by greed and the lust for power, governments variously constituted have inflicted injustice. Operating to the advantage of a few at the expense of the people’s health, longevity, and collective wisdom, sovereigns have taken to themselves prerogatives vested solely in we the citizens.
We declare as citizens, regardless of place of birth, ancestry, status, creed, or condition, the prerogative for instruments of self-governance dedicated to our collective flourishing and the avoidance of harm. We urge that no force shall be exercised absent reason and equity, and that the avoidance of enduring harms take precedence in the permissions and prohibitions of our governments.
We further seek for endorsement and enactment by individuals, organizations, and sovereigns the following five principles necessary for such governance.

:PRINCIPLES:

  1. #1 Each person is embedded in overlapping webs of communities.
    #2  Each person has the freedom to move from one place to another place.
    #3  Each person has the freedom to associate or
           disassociate with any sovereign power.
    #4  Rule is by the governed, according to laws that:
           are subject to negotiations and changes by those affected by them.
    :
    #5  Sovereign polities are places of permanent negotiations among citizens.:

    WHEREAS, people endure gross and unnecessary disparities in longevity, resources, and political prerogatives;

    // Free movement assists in ameliorating these disparities and freeing people from violence, oppression, and death. Sovereign powers use force to obstruct movement.

    WHEREAS, a few people on the planet have hoarded capital that grossly exceeds their individual needs, and indeed exceeds those of millions of people;

    // These individuals have instantiated police and other instruments of force that make possible their private capital or equity.

    // Decisions made possible by the control of private equity are further divesting communities and people of livelihood and dignity;

    // People are viewed as labor commodities instead of citizens.

    // States use incarceration to punish those who are poor, noncitizens, or protest kleptocracies, including by outsourcing prison operations to profiteers.

    // Those hoarding resources do so by gaming the global financial system.

    WHEREAS, countries are expatriating citizens, rendering them stateless, often invoking claims about nationality or ethnicity, or in retaliation for criticisms of their governments;

    THEREFORE, all people shall be citizens and be empowered,
    To have their claims, votes, and prerogatives, including those to work and residence, equally protected by all sovereign authorities regardless of place of birth, ancestry, status, creed, or condition. To review at no cost to the citizens information on themselves maintained by any entity that stores their biometric information in a database that is (a) searchable by and for biometric information, including the person’s name; or (b) profits from the collection, distribution, or maintenance of the data.

    On April 16, 2021 we will be convening first of the meetings with MOBILITIES as the first of the three
    CITIZENSHIP - STATELESSNESS THEMES !

    Meeting will last for about 90-120 minutes.

    24 hours prior to the first meeting, we will circulate to participants digital materials explaining the priorities of groups and individuals who are joining us and their reasons for endorsing the principles of the Declaration of Citizenship.
    Please feel free to send to us for availability to participants any documents or visual materials you would like us to review.
    We would like to devote the precious meeting time to discussions that further familiarize ourselves with each other’s work and aspirations.

    We are striving to break away from the exclusive reliance on English and also conventions that tie communications to countries of national origin.
    We hope to have available for these meetings/platforms
    that will simultaneously translate audio into written digital vernaculars that users can indicate at the time of the meeting.

    Next steps:

    Stay tuned for further information as the meeting date approaches.
